Chillicothe's Summer Playground Association youth baseball and softball program got underway Saturday, May 10, 2008 with its now-traditional "Opening Day" festivities at Daryl Danner Memorial Park. In addition to the introduction of all of this year's teams and the playing of some practice games, those attending were treated, as usual, to a meal by Chillicothe Elks Lodge No. 656 as part of its observance and support of Elks National Youth Week, according to lodge Exhalted Ruler Bill Tharp.
